SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- Tickets to the birthday celebration for LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley's 90th birthday party, scheduled for June 23rd, were snapped up in hours yesterday. Those eager to attend the celebration began lining up at ticket booths in Salt Lake, Ogden and Provo before dawn Wednesday. Reserved tickets were all distributed by 12:30 pm and a limited supply of standby tickets were gone in the early afternoon.

"An Evening of Celebration" will be presented June 23rd in the LDS Church's new Conference Center in Salt Lake City. It will feature performances by The Salt Lake Mormon Tabernacle Choir, The Orchestra at Temple Square as well as Metropolitan Opera soloists and distinguished local musicians.

For those that can't get into the Conference Center, the program will be broadcast live on KBYU-TV in Provo and on BYU-TV and shown on the LDS Church's satellite system to stake centers throughout the US, Canada and Latin America. It will also be rebroadcast to stake centers in Europe the following morning.
