Local Members Help Promote Arts

EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA -- Young men, young women and married Latter-day Saints have all been a part of Young Artists for the Arts. "YAFTA...is a non-denominational organization created with the sole purpose of providing performance skills in different settings for young artists," said Jennifer Dorward in a recent conversation with LDSCaNews.

Dorward assured that each performance by YAFTA meets the standards laid out in the "For the Strength of Youth" pamphlet, a booklet of standards and guidelines directed at LDS youth.

In honour of the end of the 1999-2000 performance season, YAFTA is staging a comedy called "One Mark Two Many." One Mark Two Many runs from August 24-26 at La Cite Francophone, 50-8527 Rue-Marie Anne Gaboury (91 Street), Edmonton, AB. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. each day and tickets are 7$ for adults, 5$ for seniors/students and 3$ for children under 16.

Tickets can be obtained from cast members and Tix on the Square at 780.420.5717.
