Missionary in Argentina Dies
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA -- The Deseret News reported today that an
LDS missionary serving in the Argentina Buenos Aires West Mission
died of injuries sustained when he was struck by a train. Elder
Jonathan Reed Thomas of Chandler, Arizona was struck by a train on
August 21st, and died a week later, on August 29th.
Elder Thomas' parents had flown to Argentina to be with their son,
who was at Buenos Aires' Hospital Britannica, according to an LDS
Church spokesman. Funeral arrangements, expected for Chandler,
Arizona, haven't yet been finalized.
