Even President Hinckley Searched at Olympics
Security at the 2002 Winter Olympics was so tight that even LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley and his wife, Marjorie Pay Hinckley, were searched as they arrived to attend one of the many events.

During news interviews today, President Gordon B. Hinckley praised the efforts and skills of volunteers who helped make the 2002 Winter Games a success. "What a great resource we had in the language ability in so many of our people who had served missions abroad in many countries and speak with ease in the language of the people with an appreciation for their culture," he said.
