On the final day before the NFL's cut-off for team personnel changes, LDS football star John Tait had still not signed a contract, and may face waiting until next spring and going through the NFL's draft again.

Following Kansas City Chief's president Carl Peterson's outburst last week, Peterson was to stop in Phoenix to visit Tait and his family and to try and reach deal. Peterson had called Tait's family to apologize following the outburst.

However, Tait's family has now indicated that Peterson should apologize to John Tait and to his agent, Ethan Lock, instead of to the family. Short of the apology, no meetings have been scheduled.
