BYU is preparing to host No. 2 Notre Dame on Saturday in what will be the first time the Cougars have faced a top-10 opponent as a top-10 team at LaVell Edwards Stadium, ABC4 reported Tuesday.

"This week is a different beast, obviously," BYU head coach Kalani Sitake said. "We know we're facing a great Notre Dame team." The game has drawn national attention as both teams enter undefeated and with playoff implications on the line.

The matchup represents a milestone for BYU's program, which joined the Big 12 in 2023 after years of independence following its departure from the Mountain West Conference.
