More than 1 million tickets have been claimed for Salt Lake Temple tours since reservations opened, the Salt Lake Tribune reports. The Church has added additional tour slots for September 15 and October 1 to meet demand.

The open house runs through late fall as the temple nears completion of a four-year renovation. Tours give both members and the public access to the interior before the building is rededicated.

Tickets remain available through the Church's reservation system despite the high volume already distributed.
