The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a statement honoring King Harald V of Norway following his death on August 28 at age 89. He has been succeeded by his son, Crown Prince Haakon.

The Church's statement acknowledged the late monarch's reign and expressed condolences to Norway. King Harald V ruled for more than three decades and was known for his efforts to modernize the Norwegian monarchy while maintaining its traditions.
