The LDS Church outlined five preparation steps for members and leaders ahead of the new youth Sunday experience launching this fall, including reviewing updated curriculum materials, understanding the schedule changes, and preparing youth to take more leadership in their classes. The changes affect Sunday School and young men's and young women's organizations.

The new format gives youth more autonomy in leading discussions and planning activities, part of a broader Church emphasis on youth-led ministry. Leaders are encouraged to meet with youth councils to discuss the transition.

The updated schedule was announced earlier this year and takes effect in all wards and branches beginning in October 2026.
