Dan McClellan, a Latter-day Saint biblical scholar who has devoted his career to fighting religious misinformation, appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast despite previously calling it a platform for "misinformation" and "hateful ideologies." The appearance divided his social media following.

McClellan defended the decision as an opportunity to reach Rogan's massive audience with fact-based biblical scholarship, though critics questioned whether appearing on the show contradicted his stated principles about platforming misinformation.
