The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints owns more land in Florida than any other private entity, The News-Press reports. The newspaper examined property records to determine the state's largest landholders.

The Church's Florida holdings include agricultural land, ranch operations, and conservation areas, in addition to meetinghouses and temples. The scale of the portfolio places it ahead of major corporations and real estate investment firms.

The revelation adds to growing public awareness of the Church's extensive real estate and investment operations, which became a national story after a 2019 Washington Post investigation revealed the Church's Ensign Peak Advisors held more than $100 billion in stocks and securities.
