The Montpelier Idaho Temple held a media preview Tuesday before opening for public tours beginning Thursday, September 10. The temple will be open to visitors through September 26, excluding Sundays, before being dedicated for religious use.

The 28,600-square-foot temple serves Latter-day Saints in southeastern Idaho and portions of Wyoming. It is the Church's eighth temple in Idaho and was announced in 2021. Montpelier, population 2,600, is a historic Mormon settlement founded in 1864.

Media and special guests toured the completed interior Tuesday, viewing the celestial room, sealing rooms, and baptistry. The temple sits on a prominent hillside site visible from Highway 30.
