Elder Clark G. Gilbert of the Seventy told a Chicago congregation that Hispanic young people play a critical role in the Church's future, according to a Church Newsroom release. The remarks came during a Church gathering focused on youth and young adult members.

Gilbert's comments address demographic trends, as Hispanic membership represents one of the fastest-growing segments in U.S. Church membership. The Church has expanded Spanish-language programming and leadership development in Hispanic communities in recent years.
