October 13, 2026 at 6:02 PM MT · via The Salt Lake Tribune · Summarized by Mormon News from original reporting
ESPN's College GameDay selected the BYU-Notre Dame matchup for its October 13 broadcast, choosing it over other top-25 games. The Salt Lake Tribune examines why the network made this selection, considering factors like BYU's No. 8 ranking, Notre Dame's No. 2 spot, and the national interest in the game. The decision brings the sport's most prominent pregame show to a program with a significant Latter-day Saint fanbase and institutional connection.
