The Church announced the location for the Otavalo Ecuador Temple and set a November groundbreaking date for the Cuernavaca Mexico Temple. The Ecuador temple is the first international temple site announced under President Dallin H. Oaks' administration.

The Otavalo temple will serve members in northern Ecuador. The Cuernavaca temple's groundbreaking follows earlier site and design announcements for the facility serving members in central Mexico.
