The Nevada Rural Preservation Alliance, a nonprofit formed by project opponents, filed the original petition for judicial review in August 2024. The group challenged the city's zoning and approval decisions for the temple site.

The dismissal clears a legal obstacle to the temple's construction. The court's order stated: "To date, appellant has failed to comply or otherwise communicate with this court. Accordingly, this court ORDERS these appeals DISMISSED." The temple is among several the Church is building in the Las Vegas area.
