More than 250,000 people toured the renovated San Diego California Temple during its public open house before it was rededicated for religious use, the Salt Lake Tribune reports. The temple, a longtime Southern California landmark visible from Interstate 5, has now been restricted to church members in good standing.

The San Diego Temple, originally dedicated in 1993, underwent extensive renovation. Its prominent hilltop location and distinctive white spires make it one of the most recognizable Latter-day Saint buildings. The temple remains closed to the general public following the rededication, in keeping with church practice.
