University of Illinois Press published "Richard Lyman Bushman: A Mormon Ambassador" by J.B. Haws as part of its Introductions to Mormon Thought series. The 157-page volume examines Bushman's career as Columbia University's Gouverneur Morris Professor of History Emeritus and his role as Joseph Smith's preeminent biographer.

The book analyzes how Bushman navigated between secular academic standards and confessional commitment to the LDS faith. Bushman's "Rough Stone Rolling" biography of Joseph Smith remains influential in both academic and faithful Mormon circles. The volume is priced at $17.95 in paperback.
